Installation of murals

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF YOUR MURAL

The installation of your printed mural or wallpaper is simple and does not require experience in laying wallpaper. It is however better for two people to work together to more easily align the patterns.

WALL PREPARATION :

1- NEVER install over a latex primer (freshly painted or not).

2- For a surface that has already been painted for at least 1 month, the surface must be clean and smooth (a light sanding will suffice).

3- If the surface needs to be repaired and repainted, you have 3 options :

A- A latex primer and a coat of semi-gloss paint. Wait 21 days before painting.
B- One coat of oil primer. Wait 3 days before applying the wallpaper.
C- A layer of shellac sealant (BIN original from Zinsser). Wait 1 hour before applying the wallpaper.

TOOLS :

Level, plastic smoother, metal spatula for cutting, exacto knife, brush and roller.

SUGGESTED ADHESIVES :

- Roman PRO732 or ShurStik 111 for professionals.

- Roman PRO880, ShurStik 785 or Dynamic 212PRO easier to use.

to mine.

2- Apply 2 to 3 inches of glue with a brush all around the wall and let dry 30 minutes.

3- Apply the glue evenly with a roller to cover the first width plus 6 inches to the right of the line at level and with a

brush to redo the edge of the walls (you will then have a double coat near the wall).

4- Install the first width (the widths are numbered) by aligning the right side of the width against the level line. The width should have

2 inches more in Height than the wall to be covered. It will be very important to let the width exceed one inch at the top and one inch at the bottom.

downstairs for cutting.

5- Smooth firmly but without too much pressure to eliminate air bubbles. With the smoother, push the width firmly against the

side wall, then up and down. Then with the metal spatula and the Exacto, cut the excess at the top and bottom and then on the side.

To make it easier to cut in corners, cut the vinyl to the corner with a chisel. Remove excess glue with a damp cloth.

6- Before installing the following widths, lift the right side of the width you just installed by 2 inches (5cm) that you just installed

on either side.

7- From the 2nd width, concentrate first on making the connection of the drawing with the previous width before passing the smoother.

the right side of the width without applying it to the wall before the connection is made.

8- The last width should have an excess of 1 to 2 inches to cut you the same way as at the beginning.
